2016 we opened a visitor centtre in Falset, the administrative capital of Priorat County.
Travel Priorat was founded in 2003 by Rachel Ritchie, a Modern European Languages graduate (www.rachelritchie.com) who came to the Priorat from her native England via Barcelona whilst doing research on the Spanish Civil War for the University of Barcelona. Rachel fell in love with the peace and quiet of this beautiful region of internationally acclaimed wines, olive oils and great food, as well as her local husband, Gerard, and moved to the region to start her married life and also work as a freelance wine guide and translator for the Priorat Tourist Board.
Following Rachel’s untimely death in 2016 the business continues to be run by her husband, Gerard Amoros and family friend Ania Andrews, supported by a network of other friends and family members.
We provide Guided Wine Tours Priorat and Montsant wine regions, combined with luxury accommodation from our base in the heart of Priorat wine country. We are also pleased to offer leisure walking tours in unspoilt Priorat with a knowledgable and experienced local guide. Our itineraries combine historic interest, enjoyment of nature and of course, great food and fine wines.
Throughout the year, the Priorat plays host to a series of cultural, historical and gastronomic events. We will happily discuss your vacation needs with you and help you to plan a personalised itinerary
At travelpriorat.com we combine comprehensive knowledge of the area with obsessive attention to detail and an unceasing quest for quality. We love what we do and the region where we live, which of course is this small exclusive, wine-making region in North-eastern Spain, known as the Priorat. We are based in the historic centre of the region in the charming village of Torroja del Priorat in the stately home-turned luxury holiday accommodation, Terra Dominicata or Cal Comte.
